MCX Lead Mini Tips

The Camarilla strategy involves two types of trading: reversal trading and breakout trading.

The important levels to watch are H3 and L3, where potential price reversals may occur, and H4 and L4, which represent important breakout zones.

Traders can observe price action around these levels and use additional confirmation, such as a completed five-minute candlestick, when evaluating potential entry conditions. False breakouts and unexpected reversals remain possible.

MCX Lead Mini Trading Strategies and Risk Management

MCX Lead Mini is a base-metal futures contract traded on the Multi Commodity Exchange of India. Each Lead Mini contract represents 1 metric tonne (1,000 kg) of lead, and prices are quoted in Indian rupees per kilogram.

1. Understand the Lead Mini Contract Value

The minimum tick size is ₹0.05 per kilogram. Therefore, every ₹0.05 movement in the quoted price represents a ₹50 gross profit or loss for one Lead Mini lot.

A ₹1 movement in the quoted futures price represents ₹1,000 per lot, before brokerage, taxes and other charges.

For example, buying one Lead Mini lot at ₹195 and selling at ₹197 results in a gross profit of ₹2,000. An equivalent adverse movement results in a gross loss of ₹2,000.

2. Identify Camarilla Reversal and Breakout Zones

The M Alpha strategy uses Camarilla levels to highlight potential intraday trading opportunities.

H3 and L3 indicate possible reversal zones, while H4 and L4 indicate important breakout levels. Additional levels such as H5, H6, L5 and L6 provide reference points for monitoring subsequent price movements.

These calculated levels should be assessed together with current price action and broader market conditions.

3. Monitor Factors Affecting Lead Prices

MCX Lead Mini futures prices can be influenced by global lead supply and demand, lead-acid battery production, industrial activity, recycling trends, international metal prices and USD/INR movements.

Changes in global inventories, economic announcements and unexpected supply disruptions can increase price volatility.

4. Manage Trading Risk and Confirm Entry Conditions

Before entering a trade, identify the entry condition, stop-loss level, target and acceptable risk.

A completed five-minute candlestick around an important Camarilla level may provide additional information, although false signals remain possible.

Calculated technical levels may contain prices that do not match the exchange's permitted ₹0.05 tick increments. Actual buy, sell and stop-loss orders must use valid exchange price increments.

Lead Mini futures involve leverage and compulsory-delivery obligations. Traders should understand margin requirements, expiry dates and delivery-related risks before maintaining positions near expiry.

Technical analysis provides potential trading scenarios, not assured profits.
